Spanish Liga Iberdrola club CD Tacon have completed the signing of Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale on a permanent deal.

The Madrid based club announced the deal for the Nigerian women's senior team star on Tuesday, September 10, on the completion of her medical earlier this week.

Before her move to Spain, Ohale made 16 appearances for Swedish women's league side Vaxjo DFF during her one year spell at the club.

While at the Swedish club, the defender helped them finish second on the league table, and at the same time attracted the attention of top European club in the process.

Tacon got their campaign off to a very poor start following their 9-1 defeat to Asisat Oshoala's Barcelona and they will be hoping that Ohale can add depth to the squad as the season progresses.

The club recently got promoted to the Spanish Feminine top flight and reports claim Real Madrid have acquired them but will officially take effect next year.

Ohale, having sealed a move to Spain penned an emotional message to her former club, thanking them for the opportunity and support extended to her during her reign at the club.

"I want to say a very big thank you to Vaxjo DFF for the opportunity to be part of these great club, thanks to the coaches, the players and all the officials for the great time and memories. I love you all and good luck for the rest of the season."

The 27-year-old is a three time Africa Women Cup of Nations winner (2010, 2014, and 2016) and was two time Nigerian women's league winner with Rivers Angels.

She featured for the Super Falcons four times at the 2019 FIFA Women's Cup held in France where Nigeria crashed out at the round of 16 stage.

And she could be making her debut for her new club when they travel to face Efih’s Sporting de Huelva on September 14.

Vaxjo FF also confirmed her departure on their Instagram handle, saying: "Tonight it became clear that Nigerian national team player Osinachi Ohale is leaving Växjö DFF for Spanish CD Tacon.

"Ossy has been an important part of our backline and has contributed with her strength and speed since she joined us in the summer of 2018. Thanks for everything Ossy and good luck!"

Ohale joined the Swedish side from another Swedish side Vittsjo GIK - where she scored once before leaving them in 2018.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Spanish women club Madrid CFF have completed the signing of Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke on a one year deal from Nigeria Women's Premier League side FC Robo Queens.

The 19-year-old superb defender was part of the Nigeria's women national team that crashed out of the 2019 FIFA World Cup tourney in France earlier this year.
