President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to his victory at the election tribunal on Wednesday, September 11, saying it is a win for all Nigerians who came out en masse to vote for him.
He said he was not disturbed throughout the time the case was at the tribunal, adding that Nigerians gave him the mandate and has now been proved so.
“Good conscience fears no evil report. I was unperturbed all along, because I knew Nigerians freely gave us the mandate. We are now vindicated,” he said.
In a press release signed by Femi Adesina, his special aide on media and publicity, he also dedicated the court victory to God as he praised the judiciary for ruling without bias or fear.
The media aide also said that the president, however, acknowledges those who went to court to show their grievances, saying it is their democratic right to do so.
Buhari added that now that the court has served the judgement, the country really needs to move from there, “putting behind us all bickering and potential distractions over an election in which Nigerians spoke clearly and resoundingly”.
