Former Chelsea boss, Claudio Ranieri, is among the leading candidates to replace Paul Put as Guinea national football team head coach.

Put was fired by Guinea Football Association after registering unsatisfactory results during the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Guinea exited the the African Cup of Nations in the round of 16 after suffering a 3-0 defeat in the hands of eventual tournament winners, Algeria.

The country's FA has since drawn a long list of potential candidates to replace the Belgian, with Ranieri emerging the most high profile name on the list.

Last season, Ranieri plied between Fulham and Roma, with the latter affording him a 12-game stint following the exit of Eusebio Di Francesco.

However, despite managing a last gasp 2-1 win over Parma in Roma's final match of the season, the Italian manager could not seal a Champions League slot for the Serie A giants.
