- Marcus Rashford has scored goals more than Cristiano Ronaldo did in 127 games for Man United

- The England star was instrumental to Man United's 2-1 win over Manchester City

- With his goal against City, Rashford hit 37 goals in United jersey, three above the Juve star

Marcus Rashford's steady rise from a young starlet to Manchester United's talisman is setting a similarity line between the England international and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 22-year-old star produced a man of the match performance against rivals Manchester City with a brilliant goal.

Interestingly, the game against Pep Guardiola's men was not the only match Rashford would put in a messianic brilliance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's struggling side.

Rashford was on his fabulous best in Reds 2-1 win over Jose Mourinho's Tottenham side as his stellar form also inspired Man United to an impressive outing against Chelsea and Liverpool.

And with 13 goals in all competitions this season, the England star has now beaten Cristiano Ronaldo's goal record in 127 games for Man United since he was handed senior team appearance by Louis van Gaal.

Ronaldo, in his 127 games under legendary Sir Alex Farguson, scored 34 goals and recorded 22 assists in 8,924 minutes.

Rashford beat the record with 37 goals and 18 assists in his 127 games, summing up into 8,110 minutes after Man City win.

The England star was praised for his performance and similarly likened to club legend Cristiano Ronaldo by his Norwegian manager.

"It’s very easy to compare the two of them, yeah. Both with skills, body shape, attitude, attributes - everything," Solskjaer.

"The boy has every chance in the world to become a top, top player. “Let’s hope he continues like this.

"I don’t want to talk about the number of goals. As long as he keeps being positive and being direct and thinking about getting in front of the goal and getting chances, he’ll score goals," the Norwegian said.
