Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel was said to have sent social media to frenzy after posting a quotes from Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Reuben Neves.

The highly-rated Wolves attacker was quoted in the post saying while "At Porto all midfielders were given DVDs of Mikel to take home and study every day. We used to call him the 'professor of football.'"

And the former Nigeria international while reacting to the news said: 'I am honoured,' but did not realised that the news was fake.

He was said to have thought that everyone at the Portuguese club studied his videos - meaning he fell for the fake news shared on social media.

SunSport however report that the Blues fan, who posted the comment said: “The funniest part about this is the fact the accounts I expected to blindly copy and present it as legit news did the exact same thing.”

Meanwhile, a few other Blues fans mocked their legend, as one said: "I hope you realise it’s a fake quote mate." Another said: "Do you realise that this quote is fake. Neves never said this."
