Malam Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant on media and publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, has announced that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting slated for Wednesday, September 4, has been postponed.
Shehu, who made this known on his official Twitter page on Tuesday, September 3, said that the postponement of the FEC meeting was because all the memos earlier submitted to the council for consideration have been returned to the new ministers.
Moreover, he explained that this will afford the ministers time to acquaint themselves with their new functions in various ministries, so as to contribute adequately in discussions during the gathering that will be fixed for another date.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a FEC meeting was held at the presidential villa with President Muhammadu Buhari presiding over it on Wednesday, April 17.
Present at the meeting, which is holding in Abuja State House, are the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, the chief of staff, Abba Kyari, and the national security adviser, Babagana Monguno.
Others at the meeting are the 21 ministers. As at time of filling this report Vice President Yomi Osinbajo was reportedly absent.
