- President Muhammadu Buhari met with some very good Nigerians in Japan during his stay in the country for the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7)

- Among the Nigerians he met were industrialists, economist, and a bishop who have had huge impacts in the country

- It is interesting to know that some of the Nigerians are also married to Japanese women and have happy homes

As Nigeria’s public and international image keep getting hit and stained by the criminal acts of the nation’s citizens in the diaspora, there are still many whose honest works promote the country.

Remember the international feat of the students from Abuja who won two gold medals for their outstanding human-centred scientific projects, where they beat other competitors from all over the world?

You would recall the exploits of Nigerians like Umunna, Kemi, and Kelechi, who all achieved great feat in the fields of politics, humanitarian work, academics, engineering to mention a few.

What about whizkids like Emmanuella and Beckford who are not just markers of inspirations to children that they could be whatever they want to be, but to all of us, that Nigerians have great minds.

Some of those individuals are good image makers of this country. During President Muhammadu Buhari’s diplomatic travel to Japan to attend the Seventh Tokoyo International Conference on Africa Development (TICAD), he me with yet more Nigerians doing the nations proud.

According to Femi Adesina, the president’s aide on media and publicity, he had meeting with good Nigerians who are good academics, scientist, economists, industrialist, businessmen, and a bishop.

Here are therefore the Nigerians Buhari met:

1. Bishop Adebayo

Adebayo operates a church a membership population of 22,000 in Japaan, and has been in the country for about 30 years. He is married to a Japanese woman who he has seven children with.

2. Kennedy Nnaji

Nnaji runs a recycling company that focuses on reusing raw metals. He has also created an app that he said will change Africa. He is also married to a Japanese woman, and has lived there for 27 years.

3. Professor Ejiogu Emenike

The professor’s expertise covers areas such as industrial electronics, power devices, new energy systems. In Nigeria, he is the founding director of Laboratory of Industrial Electronics, Power Devices $ New Energy.

It should be noted that he once a winner of a World Bank ward for energy development.

4. Engineer Ochade Osakwe

Osakwe is a force to reckon with in the Japanese commercial sector as he is the President of Nigeria Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Japan. He has been able to bring many Japanese investors to Nigeria.

5. Christopher Ariri

Ariri is of Edo origin and has been there for about three decades (28 years). Like some of Nigerians in Japan, he is also married to a Japanese woman, and has two daughters.
