Buba Galadima describes attacks on political leaders as features of democracy

Buba Galadima, a former political ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, has spoken up about the reactions of some Nigerians to what they describe as bad governance from the country's leadership.

Galadima reacted to questions bothering on protest marches an example of which is the #RevolutionNow movement Omoleye Sowere and the attack on former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu in Germany, Vanguard reports.

He said that these are features of democracy adding that Nigerian leaders should do their utmost to see to the welfare of those they are leading because it will be a day for reckoning and accountability soon.

Galadima said: "I can tell you that these attacks on leaders are part of democracy. If somebody believes in himself, he has nothing to fear and would freely travel out to any country even if you are killed for what you believe.

"What I’m driving at is that our leaders should do better than they are doing or else, the law of Karma will catch up with them within or outside the shores of Nigeria.

"I’m not supporting anything. What I’m saying is that the leaders should be very careful about their behaviour while in office because the people are beginning to demand accountability from them."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Galadima had raised allegation against the administration of President Buhari saying the government is out to intimidate the judiciary.

Galadima who served as spokesperson of the PDP campaign council had claimed that some friends of the government were trying to manipulate the judiciary.
