Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, has lauded the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his recent dare to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group.

Amaechi had made the dare during a chat with Legit.ng street reporter, Damilare Okunola, following the recent attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany. He insisted that he was not afraid of traveling abroad.

The minister described the attack on the lawmaker as “completely wrong”.

Amaechi, in response to a question of if politicians are now scared of traveling abroad, said: “What do you mean by that? Scared of who? I’m going to Geneva, let them come. You know there’s what they call self defense.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that an Igbo group described the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu by some IPOB members as a deliberate attempt to set up the Igbos.

The Igbo in Nigeria Movement (INM) also described the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, and his members as enemies of Ndigbo.

The INM said the order by the leader of the outlawed group to attack high profile Igbos and other Nigerians abroad was uncalled for.
