The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the 2019 June/July results. The disclosure was made on Tuesday, August 27, by the acting registrar of the council, Abubakar Gana.
According to the results released by the council, 829,787 representing 71.59% made five credits and above including English language and Mathematics, The Nation reports.
Legit.ng gathers that it represents an increase of 0.11% when compared to 2018 June/July results.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) had released the May/June 2019 results. The examination body revealed this to journalists on Friday, July 26.
This was confirmed by the examination body’s public relations officer, Demian Ejijiogu.
According to WAEC's head of national office, Olu Adenipekun, 1,596,161 candidates registered for the examination from 18,639 recognised secondary schools in Nigeria.
Adenipekun also revealed that a total of 1,020,519 candidates who sat for the 2019 May/June WASSCE for schools obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
He went on to say that of the number of candidates who registered for the examination, 1,590,173 sat for the examination which was also administered to some candidates from some schools in Benin Republic, Cote d’Ivoire and Equatirial Guinea, where Nigerian curriculum for the senior secondary school was used.
Even more, WAEC's HNO said that 1,309,570 candidates also obtained credits and above in a minimum of any five subjects, with or without English Language and or mathematics, adding that 180,205 results were withheld over cases of examination malpractice.
