Steve Harvey: Top Hollywood visits Ghana, asks people to pray everyday

- The Hollywood actor said the visit created a connection between him and his ancestors, encouraging others to visit their homes

Popular Hollywood actor, Steve Harvey, and his family made a significant visit to Ghana’s slave castle, calling it the-year-of-the-return.

On his instagram page, the popular TV personality said that he could feel his ancestors on him in a way he could not explain.

He therefore asked everyone to go home and have the same experience, adding that the strength of everyone’s ancestors is on them.

“This was real pain I felt going back to Ghana’s slave castles... I could feel my ancestors on me... Powerful beyond words that I can explain.

“I encourage as many of you as possible to go HOME for your ancestors. Their strength is in each of us and we must honor their ultimate sacrifice in all that we do,” he said.

He also said that when he was leaving the castle, he was shown so much love by brothers, appreciating them for welcoming him back home.

In a video of the visit he posted on his page, the people who gathered around him were shouting “we love you”, to which he replied that they should always pray and not give up.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Samuel L Jackson, another popular actor, traced his root to Gabon, a country in West Africa, adding that he is originally from Bantu.

It should be noted that Bantu is a popular tribe of most blacks in that part of the continent and so it is not surprising that many blacks in diaspora are also of the tribe too.

Jackson did not only go to Gabon to connect with his origin, he also got a Gabonese passport, adding that he met the king of the Benga.
