Two road projects constructed by the Katsina state government were commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, August 15, despite the light rainfall.
According to Daily Trust, during the event, the president said he would query the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, as to why he failed to provide raincoats for policemen present.
Legit.ng gathers that it was drizzling during the commissioning of the 22km Fargo-Katsayal-Kwasarawa-Jirdede-Koza road, and Buhari noticed that policemen on duty at the event were not wearing raincoats.
The president then reportedly asked the most senior police officer at the venue, an AIG, “Why did you leave your men in rain, without raincoats?”
The AIG is said to have stayed silent, and the president then stated that he would raise the issue with the IGP.
Soldiers at the venue reportedly had raincoats on.
Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Daura, Katsina state, commended Governor Aminu Bello Masari's government, saying the administration was interested in the welfare of the people.
Buhari said this while commissioning the re-designed and re-constructed Fago-Katsayal-Kwasarawa-Jirdede-Koza road during his visit to the state.
"Thank you, Governor Masari, for taking care of the people of my constituency," the president told Masari.
