- The casually-dressed man evaded security to make his way to the pitch

Pitch invaders are becoming a familiar tale at Liverpool matches after another disrupted the Red's UEFA Super Cup victory against Chelsea at Vodafone Arena on Wednesday, August 14.

It had to take the efforts of eight stewards to track down the casually-dressed man who sprinted across the pitch before sliding on his knees.

The invader is said to have gained access to the field beyond the halfway line near where the players were gathered with the ball at the end Liverpool were attacking.

The incident happened within 15 minutes into the game causing a brief delay before being escorted away.

Footage from the scene showed the man avoiding stewards as he sprinted across the field before being carried away.

This is the third time a pitch invader is impeding a Liverpool game in under two months after a fan from the away end disrupted their Premier League opener against Norwich at Anfield on Friday, August 9.

Russian swimwear model Kinsey Wolanski also momentarily halted the Red's Champions League final against Tottenham in June.

Liverpool went on to win the Super Cup clash, after stunning Chelsea 5-4 on penalties.
