Joao Felix, Portugal star, has been handed words of advice by compatriot Jose Mourinho as he prepares to kick-off his first season in La Liga after a massive £114m summer switch from Benfica to Atletico Madrid.

“I believe that he can't escape this responsibility. It doesn't matter if he's 18, 20 or 25.

“What matters is his talent and the responsibility he has.”

Felix attracted many suitors among Europe's top clubs after netting 20 times in 43 matches for Benfica last campaign.

“Atletico Madrid's level of investment leaves them with responsibility to fight for the Champions League and La Liga.

“It's clear that Barcelona and Real Madrid have to be there because of their power, financial capability, culture and quality.
