Insecurity in Nigeria: I’ll fight banditry, kidnapping to standstill - Buhari

- President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to fight insecurity in the country to a standstill

- President Buhari said that those perpetuating evil in the country and calling on God's name do not really know him

- The president also said that the federal government will use soldiers, police and other public servants to end banditry in the country

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, August 13, vowed to fight insecurity in the country within the next four years.

Speaking in Katsina state, President Buhari said those behind kidnapping and banditry in the country are not true faithful, adding that it is either such persons do not know God or disagree with him, The Nation reports.

The president said: "I assure you that we sleep and wake-up with the sad moment of banditry and kidnapping activities in the state and country. By the Grace of God, we will use soldiers, police and other public servants to end banditry.’’

"You can’t carry bomb or gun, sword or knife to go and kill innocent somebody and say 'Allahu Akbar'. This implies that you either don’t believe in God or you don’t know what you are saying.’’

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that following issues of insecurity, President Muhammadu Buhari had on Wednesday, August 14, visited Batsari local government area to sympathise with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.

Batsari is one of the eight local government areas disturbed with the activities of banditry and kidnapping in Katsina state.
