Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba said on Tuesday, August 13 said that he was working tirelessly with his Benue counterpart, Samuel Ortom, to end the crisis between the Tiv and Jukun in the border area of the states.
Media aide to the Taraba governor, Bala Abu, said this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), following allegations by the Tiv Youth Council (TYC) that the governor and General Theophilus Danjuma were fuelling the crisis.
Legit.ng gathers that Abu exonerated the governor and General Danjuma from the crisis.
“It is a grave allegation to say that someone in the status of Governor Darius Ishaku and General TY Danjuma will be sponsoring crisis.
"This allegation is false and it cannot stand. It is intended to smear the governor and General Danjuma,” Abu said.
Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the Tiv Youth Council said Governor Darius Ishaku and retired General Theophilus Danjuma should be investigated by security agencies over the continued crisis between Tiv and Jukun people of Taraba state.
The president of the group, Chivir Mike Msuaan, in a statement, said the investigation of Ishaku and Danjuma was necessary in view of allegations that the two powerful individuals may be supporting the Jukun militia.
