- A member of the opposition party has disagreed with Joe Igbokwe assertion on the leadership style of President Buhari
- Ken Okolugbo said Igbokwe must first admit that many Nigerians are hungry and live in poverty
- According to Okolugbo, the nation's economy is nothing to write home about and Nigeria needs to move to a place of economic prosperity
A political analyst and member of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ken Okolugbo, has disagreed with the position of publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, on the leadership style of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Okolugbo who appeared as a guest on Channels Television's Politics Today, on Monday, August 12, said the APC and its members must first admit that Nigerians are hungry.
“I can’t condemn entirely everything that President Muhammadu Buhari has done. I have said it and I have tried to always be objective," Okolugbo said.
Stating that the nation's economy is nothing to write home about, Okolugbo said Nigeria needs to move to a place of economic prosperity.
“But Igbokwe must admit that we are hungry. Nigerians are hungry. The economy is bad. We need to move to a next level (of economic prosperity),” he said.
He also said that while PDP was not at its best during its 16-years in government, there is need to end the blame game and focus on taking Nigeria out of the current poverty situation.
“I am not saying we had a perfect government, let us stop that blame game. We have passed that era of the blame game.
“We have always said it that PDP’s government isn’t perfect. In fact, Secondus apologised to Nigerians. For somebody to apologise, does that not tell you that we didn’t do well in a lot of areas? he queried.
“But we are looking at it. When you marry two wives, you compare the two wives. You have married the PDP, now you are married to the APC. Now Nigerians can see for themselves. We did better than what we are currently seeing,” Okolugbo added.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Igbokwe had said that Nigeria was having challenges because of the 16-years of PDP' bad leadership structure.
Igbokwe also said that anyone who can say that President Buhari has not done well for Nigerians is a liar from the pit of hell.
