APC to pick Oyetola's commissioners as governor speaks on delay in cabinet set-up

- Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun gives a hint that no other political party will make his cabinet in the state

- Oyetola says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been given the opportunity to nominate members of the cabinet

- The governor explains that bringing other political parties to his cabinet could be dangerous

The governor of Osun state, Gboyega Oyetola, has explained the delay in the setting up of his cabinet saying that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has the opportunity to nominate commissioners.

The Nigerian Tribune quoted Oyetola as saying that the delay is the result of the need to assemble individuals who bring the vision of his administration into fruition.

The governor, who spoke with journalists at his Iragbiji country home in the evening of Monday, August 12, said he would soon send the names to the state House of Assembly.

“I will run the all-inclusive government because my party will have a say. Bringing members of other parties may create a problem.

“I will listen to ideas from them. We have given the party the opportunity to pick the commissioners.

“I will welcome ideas from other parties. The process has commenced. We will look at the list. I will also screen before I send it to the House of Assembly. The process had commenced. It will be completed,” Oyetola remarked.

He commended the media in Nigeria just as he added that the roles of pressmen remain critical in the development of Osun state.
