Thirty years ago, the entire Nigerian football fraternity was thrown into mourning following the tragic and untimely death of former Super Eagles star Samuel Okwaraji.
On that faithful day Samuel Okwaraji died, he was playing for the Nigerian national senior team which was known as the Green Eagles then before they later changed to Super Eagles.
Samuel Okwaraji collapsed 10 minutes from the end of a 1990 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Angola in Lagos.
The agile footballer was 25 then and he died from possible complications of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Okwaraji who was said to have been the only child of his parents wore the number 6 jersey for Nigeria during his active playing time
Before his shocking demise, Okwaraji was also a qualified lawyer who had a masters in international law from the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome.
The Nigerian Football Federation have also marked the 30th remembrance of late Samuel Okwaraji by taking to social media.
