Sallah: There’s palpable hardship in Nigeria - Emir of Zazzau

- The Emir of Zazzau has lamented over what he described as the palpable hardship in the country which he says requires urgent action

- The royal father urged government at all levels to pay serious attention to citizens’ welfare

- The monarch also called on the government to purchase surplus farm produce after harvests as a means of assisting the less privileged in time of need

Alhaji Shehu Idris, the Emir of Zazzau has lamented over what he described as the palpable hardship in the country which he says requires urgent action by the federal and Kaduna state governments to bring succor to Nigerians.

The emir stated this at his palace while delivering his Sallah message on Sunday, August 11, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the royal father urged government at all levels to pay serious attention to citizens’ welfare.

He said: “The suffering requires the attention and assistance of the governments at both federal and state levels. Similarly, we are urging our people to continue to promote peaceful coexistence.

“Fulani herdsmen and farmers should respect the interest of one another. People are also urged to avoid rumour mongering and give maximum cooperation to security agents.

“Kaduna state, local governments and the House of Assembly should take measures that would bring about development in the areas of agriculture, animal husbandry and education.

“If these sectors are giving necessary attention, they are capable of bringing about peaceful coexistence and the end effect is improvement in the lives of our people.”

The royal father also urged residents to report any outbreak of epidemic to relevant authorities and called on the government to purchase surplus of farm produce after harvests as a means of assisting the less privileged in time of need.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II on Sunday, called on parents to inculcate the fear of God in their children, so that they can be assets to the family and society at large.‎

The emir made the call while addressing the people of the state shortly after he led the Eid prayer at the Kofar Mata Central Eid ground in Kano metropolis.

Sanusi urged parents to train their children in a rightful way and also urged them to give priority to the education of their children.‎‎‎
