When does LASU screening begin in 2019?

LASU screening is a mandatory exercise for any candidate seeking admission into the prestigious academic institution. The screening exercise is based on Point Grading System (PGS), which includes the use of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and five best relevant subjects of the 100 level and direct 200 entry-level of the applicant’s course of choice.

Lagos State University - LASU is a state university situated at Ojo, a town in Lagos State. It offers courses at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level. Before admission into the university, applicants are screened to check their capabilities.

When does LASU screening begin in 2019? Well, the exercise started on Thursday, August 1st, and will last for 16 days. It will come to an end on Friday, August 16th at midnight according to LASU latest admission news.

Prospective applicants are advised to visit the LASU admission portal. The portal has two pages; UME applicants’ sign up page and Direct Entry applicants’ sign up page.

Eligibility for LASU admission screening

Before you make an application for the LASA screening form, prospective candidates are required to check their eligibility to avoid wasting their money on the non-refundable fee. Some of the requirements include;

  1. Applicants who have selected Lagos State University as their first University of choice in their UTME – Tertiary Matriculation Examinations must have scored not less than 190 marks and must be more than 16 years by October 1st, 2019.
  2. Candidates of Lagos State origin, for levels 100 and 200 who have proved their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) and must provide the IIVC code at the LASU portal.
  3. All pre-degree students who have completed their studies successfully and want to be considered for admission into the 2019/2020 session must have chosen LASU as their first choice institution in their 2019 UTME.
  4. All direct entry candidates, including the LASU Foundation (JUPEB) must obtain a direct entry form from JAMB.
