Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles manager, was left out after Christian Nsengi-Biembe has replaced Florent Ibenge as the coach of the DR Congo national side.

According to BBC report, the Central African nation opted for Nsengi-Biembe, who doubles as DR Congo's technical director and coach of the under-23 side will take charge of the senior national team for six months.

On the other hand, the 57-year-old Ibenge, who bowed out on Wednesday, August 7, led the Leopards to three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations tournaments since he was handed the job in August 2014.

DR Congo claimed third spot at AFCON 2015, two years later they got to the quarter-finals and in Egypt last month, they could not get past the last 16 round.

Ibenge did not give reasons for quitting but looks forward to remain with DR Congo football federation.

"When I began the job it was never my intention to stay for very long," Ibenge said.

"I have ended up staying five years and that's quite a long time and we have achieved some good things.

"The only thing I can say is thank you to the president of the federation, to AS Vita Club (who he has continued to coach during his time with the National team), a big thank you to the public who have supported me.

"I have received a lot and I have given a lot but it is time to thank to all the players I have coached and all the technical team."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles manager, is reportedly waiting on family members to decide his future with Nigeria senior national team.
