Insecurity in Nigeria: Review your strategy - NUJ boss Isiguzo tells Buhari

- The president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Christopher Isiguzo, has rated the security strategy of the federal government low

- Isiguzo said that President Muhammadu Buhari should review his security strategy as the situation in Nigeria presently demands

- The NUJ boss said that President Buhari should do his utmost to make sure Nigerians sleep with their two eyes closed

Christopher Isiguzo, the president of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Thursday, August 8, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to change his security strategy.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Isiguzo said that it was time for the President Buhari to review his strategy for efficiency, so that Nigerians can henceforth sleep with their two eyes closed, Vanguard reports.

The NUJ president said: “We cannot continue with one strategy, we have tried this strategy over and over again.

"You can’t continue with one strategy and expect a different result. You are obviously not going to receive a different result.

“This is the time for him to try a different strategy. Change the security strategy so that people can once again start sleeping with their two eyes closed. That is an appeal we are making to him.”

Meanwhile, reported that the general officer commanding 2 division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Anthony Bamidele Omozoje, had said that the army has put a special operation in place in the southwest and Edo states to tackle kidnapping.

General Omozoje said the army put the special operation in place to complement the effort of the police in the security of lives and property of citizens.
