David Luiz has sealed a sensational move to Arsenal from rivals London rivals Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
The Brazilian, who will join new signing Kieran Tierney, is expected to bolster Arsenal's porous defence ahead of the new season.
According to a statement by the Gunners, the 32-year-old centre back will wear the number 23 shirt.
"Brazilian international defender David Luiz has signed for us in a permanent transfer from Chelsea," the statement said.
His switch to the Emirates will see him reunite with Unai Emery who he worked under at Paris Saint-Germain.
Luiz begun his footballing career with Brazilian outfit, Vitoria, before moving to Portugal where he played turned out for Benfica.
Emery has since hailed the transfer, admitting the defender's immense experience in the Premier League will add more depth in his squad.
"David has huge experience and I look forward to working with him again. He is a well known player and adds to our defensive strength," the Spaniard said.
Legit.ng also reported that Premier League side Everton have confirmed the signing of Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi on a five-year deal.
The transfer fee Everton paid for Iwobi is at least £35m, making him the most expensive Nigerian player in history.
