The president of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has released his official portrait to be used by Nigerians, media organisations and other government parastatals.
A statement on Tuesday afternoon, August 6, by his media team explained the Senate president should be officially addressed “Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan Ph.D, CON, as indicated on the portrait”, Vanguard reports.

Meanwhile, the Senate president, on Monday, August 5 left Abuja for Saudi Arabia to join millions of Muslim faithful around the world for Hajj.
Lawan's special adviser on media, Ola Awoniyi, made this known in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja.
Awoniyi said that Lawan, while in the holy land, would use the opportunity to pray for the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria.
He said that the Senate president would also pray for the success of the 9th National Assembly, currently on annual recess, in its legislative activities for the advancement of the country.
The Senate president'a aide said that Lawan would be back to the country as soon as the Hajj rites are over.
Legit.ng recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari also on Wednesday, July 17, approved a new official portrait for display in public offices, buildings and for other legitimate purposes.
In a statement issued by office to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the president directed ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), sub-national entities, businesses and the public to obtain the soft copy of the portrait.
Also, the sample copy of the new official portrait can be viewed and downloaded from the website of the office of the SGF.
