- Osimhen was among the Super Eagles players who played at the AFCON 2019 in Egypt

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has completed a mega move to French club Lille joining the Ligue 1 side from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi.

The 20-year-old has signed a 5-year contract with Les Dogues and replaces Rafael Leao in LOSC’s squad as the Portuguese is on his way to completing a €35m move to AC Milan.

Last season, Victor Osimhen was impressive for the French club scoring 12 goals in 25 League appearances for Lille.

His superb performances also helped him to make the Super Eagles final squad to 2019 African Nations Cup in Egypt.

He was among the Super Eagles squad who won bronze medal at the AFCON 2019 playing only one game against Tunisia in the third place match.

“Lille is a very good club that has a high quality project and attracts players with great class, even more so than ever before in recent years.

“Great Nigerian players have also played here. I want to commit myself to following in their footsteps. I am therefore very happy to be here and to join this great club called Lille.

“I am still very young, I am learning and I think that this project suits me perfectly to continue to progress,'' Osimhen explained.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Gernot Rohr who is the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria rubbished the reports linking him from his present position with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

After steering the Super Eagles to win bronze medal at the AFCON 2019, there have been speculation that Gernot Rohr could be on his way out of the Super Eagles.

Nigeria beat Tunisia 1-0 in the AFCON 2019 third place match in which striker Odion Ighalo scored the only goal.
