Just in: Magajin Garin Daura arrives home

- An in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari who was abducted in Daura has returned home

- Umar Uba returned home after 29 days of regaining his freedom from his abductors

- He was received at the Emir's palace by the Emir of Daura, traditional leaders and many district heads

Alhaji Musa Umar Uba, an in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari who regained his freedom his abductors on Tuesday, July 2, has returned home.

Daily Trust reports that the Magajin Garin Daura returned to Daura town to a rousing welcome on Wednesday, July 31.

Upon his arrival Uba went straight to the palace of Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Faruk, who is also his elder brother.

It was gathered that Magajin Garin Daura met with many district heads and other traditional title holders who welcomed him at the emir's palace.

Describing Uba's abduction as a terrible experience, the emir thanked President Buhari and the entire Daura emirate for their support.

“On behalf of myself, the president, Muhammadu Buhari and the entire Daura emirate, we are thanking God for the release of Magajin Garin Daura alive."

"We thank every Nigerian, persons from Niger, Ghana and others who have sent encouraging messages to boost our morale to consider the incident as an act of God,” the emir said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Magajin Daura was freed by his kidnappers on July 1 after two months in captivity.

Alhaji Uba was abducted from his residence in Daura on Wednesday, May 1 by gunmen. He was later freed in Kano.
