David Ajala, a British-Nigerian actor, has been announced as a regular cast member in Star Trek: Discovery.

According to Okay Africa, the announcement came at the current 2019 San Diego Comic Con held from Thursday, July 18 to Monday, July 22.

It was gathered that Ajala will play a character Cleveland “Book” Booker, which is described as smart and capable with a natural charisma.

His character was described as one with an attitude that would get into trouble as often as he gets out of it.

Ajala was very popular for his lead role in supernatural thriller series: Failing Water and Nightflyers which both ran for limited seasons.

He has also featured in Supergirl as the popular Manchester Black. It should be noted that the third season of Star Trek will document the journey of the USS Discovery as they encounter new worlds.

The new season will also have a future time setting as it is set in a place a thousand years from now, exactly where the season 2 of the series ended.

A Twitter user with the name Olufemi Awoyemi made the news known on the micro-messaging platform on Sunday, June 28, where he also added that he is a graduate of Stanford University.

It should be noted also that Olorunnipa is an analyst for the CNN and has formerly had a stint with international media organisations like Bloomberg, Miami Herald and Stanford.
