Popular Nigerian novelist, Onyebuchi 'Buchi' Emecheta, has been celebrated by online search engine, Google.
The novelist has been celebrated on July 21, 2019, which would have been her 75th birthday. Buchi Emecheta died on January 25, 2017, in London.
The talented novelist authored over 20 books as well as plays. Some of her works include; The Bride Price, The Joys of Motherhood, Second Class Citizen, The Slave Girl, to name a few.
Google has honoured the late author with a doodle which appears when users make use of the search engine. The doodle has an illustration of the late writer doing what she knows how to do best.

In other news, Legit.ng reported that Nigerian writer, Lola Shoneyin, reacted to a viral video of billionaire businessman, Cosmas Maduka, preaching on the street like a regular roadside pastor.
Shoneyin described the act as noise pollution. According to her, whether such act comes from a billionaire on a bus boy, noise pollution is still a huge problem in Nigeria.
