- This is coming after the singer and his wife were invited by the Nigeria Police Force over the rape allegations levelled against Pastor Fatoyinbo by Busola
- Busola accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of raping her twice when she was a teengager
- Timi says he and his wife have long been ready for such invitation
Celebrated singer Timi Dakolo has said he will fight for his wife and children and defend them from unrelenting attack by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).
Dakolo is reacting to the police invitation letters he and his wife Busola were served on Saturday, July 20.
Legit.ng recall that the Nigeria Police Force confirmed that its operatives served official invitation letters on Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola on Saturday, July 20.
The police made the confirmation on their official Twitter page on Sunday, July 21, saying the invitation should not be seen as a warrant of arrest.
The duo were served invitation letters over the rape allegations Busola levelled against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).
Timi reacted to the invitation on his Instagram page, saying their lawyers had told them to get ready for such letter.
He said: "We have long been ready for this type of institutionalised intimidation and dirtiness. Investigating officials have frustrated as a result of underhand delay? Dirty bloggers are fabricating things that cover the truth, going to the IG's people under dark to force this case to be posted to Abuja?"
The singer said their petition has not been answered and Pastor Fatoyinbo has not been invited over the accusations levelled against him.
Dakolo said: "And sending a bus load of questionable armed "policemen" and shady men lying in wait to intimidate my wife and children today, forcing their way into my home? Is that how the real police delivers a letter ? This is best you can do?"
Dakolo said such act by the police is the reason why all the hurting women and families have not come out with horrible things done to them.
The singer added: "You picked the wrong one and you picked the wrong time. Nigerians are more awake than you think."
Legit.ng previously reported that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said it had taken a stand in the alleged rape case against the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
The disclosure was made by the association’s president, Dr Samson Ayokunle, during a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, July 18.
Ayokunle noted that the allegation, no matter how bad it may be, remains an allegation until proven otherwise. That is, until it is properly investigated and there is a truth to hold on to.
He said: “We have told you without mincing words that we will never support immorality in whatever form. It is alien to the culture of the church, to the teachings of Christ."
