Residents of Iyana-egba area of Ikire in Irewole local government area of Osun state have commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola over the construction of the bridge that links the area with other streets in the community.

One of the residents who spoke with Legit.ng, Idris Ogundare, noted that the road had been neglected since 2010 when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was governing the state.
He said the residents of the area were happy to see that the road was among the ones recently approved for construction across the state by Governor Oyetola.
"We are very grateful to the governor for this kind gesture. This road has been neglected since 2010 when former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was the governor of the state. We have at different occasions appealed to concerned authority but nothing was done.
"The road became impassable for motorists and other users and it makes movement from this area to other parts of the community, especially Oke-moro area, practically impossible.
"We also want to thank the deputy governor of the state, Gboyega Alabi, who incidentally hails from this town and particularly from our ward - ward 6. We can't argue the fact that he is very instrumental to the construction of this road," he said.
He, however, urged the people of the state to give maximum support to Oyetola-led government in order to move the state forward.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved N169.74 billion for the award of contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of 10 roads across the country.
