The 23-year-old scored the winning goal in their 3-2 win over defending champions Cameroon at the round of 16 clash, and the attacker is counting on their confidence ahead of the crucial match.

He added that maintaining the same energy that helped them emerge victorious in the last two matches will definitely see them through against the Fennecs.

"We know it is almost like a final, Algeria one of the best teams in Africa with quality players but also we have confidence and after the game against South Africa we have more passion and we're looking forward to the game," Iwobi told Goal.

"We have to play together, stick together and keep fighting. I am sure if we do the same thing that we did against Cameroon and South Africa we have a good chance to win."

The Eagles have lost one of their last five matches at the tournament, while their opponents are unbeaten coming into this fixture.

Iwobi further stated: "Cameroon, considering we were losing before winning, it wasn’t only physical but mentally it was a very big challenge for us and to overcome that loss and win was very good for us."

Egypt have been in support of the Super Eagles since they crashed out earlier in the championship and Iwobi has this to say: "They are crazy with the team. They were singing and dancing, they help us a lot.

"We also see Egyptian fans support us and encourage us to perform better so it is a great feeling when they saw them supporting us."
