The federal ministry of works has disclosed that the Second Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra state may be completed before the 2022 completion date.
The disclosure was made on Saturday, July 13, by Engineer Adeyemo Ajani, the controller, federal ministry of works in charge of Anambra state, The Nation reports.
Ajani, who spoke during a visit of by a delegation of Nigeria Society of Engineers led by their president, Engineer Chinasaokwu Okoli, said with the speed of the construction firm, Julius Berger, the project was likely to be completed before the approved date.
The controller said that the work stood at about 15 % the last time the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo visited the place about two months ago, but noted that work currently had risen to 23.18 % completion.
“From the way the work is going, we are likely to complete the work before 2022. Everything is possible, the construction is fast and everyone is happy with the firm handling it “Ajani said.
Legit.ng had reported that vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo inspected the level of work done on the Second Niger Bridge.
Osinbajo also said the Second Niger Bridge project was taking shape and promised that it will be completed at the scheduled time.
