Manchester United got their pre-season tour in Australia off to a winning star following their slim victory over Perth Glory on Saturday, July 13.

Two second half goals from Marcus Rashford and James Garner were all the Red Devils needed to ensure they march to victory after regulation period.

Rashford fired home the first goal of the match on the hour mark, while Garner sealed the win for the English side just five minutes left to play in the match.

The Old Trafford outfit struggled with performance in the first half of the meeting as they were unable to break into the defence of the Australian side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielded different starting eleven the two sides of the encounter with Argentine's Sergio Romero starting in goal for the Premier League side.

While Joel Pereira came on to take his place at the start of the second half with Spanish keeper David De Gea observing proceedings from the bench.

Although, it is unclear if he will commit his future to the club as his current deal with the club expires at the end of the coming season.

New signing Daniel James featured for the first 45 minutes before being replaced by Mason Greenwood at the start of second stanza.

Embattled Paul Pogba also came on in the game but Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, who has been linked with Inter Milan was not included in the match day squad.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool thrashed Tranmere 6-0 in their preseason friendly game at the Prenton Park earlier this week.

A goal each from Divock Origi, Bobby Duncan, Nathaniel Clyne, Curtis Jones and a brace from Rhian Brewster sealed the win for the Champions League holders.
