In fact, Hiroki Abe is said to be on his way to the Nou Camp where he will have his medicals before being announced officially as a Barcelona player.

But he will have to start his career at Barcelona with the Catalans' second team, and if he impresses his coaches, then he gets a chance to move to the main team.

Financial details of the transfer deal were not released but earlier reports said Barcelona would pay around 2 million euros for Abe.

Barcelona have already had a busy summer signing Frenkie de Jong from Ajax, Neto from Valencia and Emerson from Atlético Mineiro for a combined 113 million euros. ( -> We have updated to serve you better
