President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, July 12 urged migrants to within six months submit themselves for e-registration at the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja.
President Buhari stated that the federal government has the right to know each migrant in Nigeria, adding that the registration process will further enhance the internal security of the country.
The president stated this at the official commissioning of the Mmgrant e-registration center and passport data processing center.
According to The Nation, he was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation at the event.
He said government is serious over the development, advising migrants to take advantage of the six months amnesty period to avoid penalty.
Meanwhile, the federal government says it has started the process of animal census, traceability and identification.
This was disclosed by the permanent secretary, ministry of agriculture and rural development, Dr. Mohammed Bello Umar at the weekend in Abuja.
Umar said the exercise will help in tackling issues of cattle rustling as well as help get accurate data on livestock.
