- Members of the Islamic religious group, Shiites, have asked the national leader of APC to tell Buhari to released their leader
- The Shiites said they are ready to die until their leader is released
- According to the group, they have 21 million lives to offer to security agencies in the continuous demand for the release of El-Zakzaky
The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has called on the national leader of the All progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, to tells President Muhammadu Buhari to release its leaders, Ibrahm El-Zakzaky.
The members of IMN popularly known as Shiites while protesting the continued detention of El-Zakzaky said they are ready to die until their leader is released.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the IMN’s coordinator for the southwest, Muftau Zakariya, during a protest in Lagos said the group has 21 million lives to offer in the continuous demand for the release of El-Zakzaky.
“We are ready to die if our leader is not released. If they are ready to kill us, we have 21 million lives to offer. I know that they do not have 21 million bullets to shoot at us. It is true that there are 21 million Shiites in Nigeria and if they kill our leader, which country will they have to rule by 2023."
“Buhari got to the office because the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, assisted him," Zakariya said.
Zakariya noted that the group decided to plead for the release of El-Zakzaky through Tinubu because he is the national leader of the ruling APC who administration is holding El-Zakzaky.
"It was Tinubu that started the movement and spent his money to ensure that the party assumed power.
“So, we are calling on Tinubu to talk to the president, who is a member of his party, to free our leader. If he allows the president to continue to kill our members, there will not be Nigeria in 2023," Zakariya added.
