Lionel Messi has been named the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Best International Men's Football Player.
The award which was given to Messi by an American broadcast outfit, ABC for his individual and collective exploits in the previous calendar year.
Messi beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Virgil van Dijk to emerge the Best Men's Football Player of the Year.
The 32-year-old had a glittering season with Barcelona, scoring 51 goals in all competitions for the Camp Nou outfit.
And his 36 La Liga goals helped him win Pichichi trophy and the European Golden Boot ahead of PSG star Mbappe.
The mercurial attacker also boasts of being the top-scorer in the 2018-19 edition of the Champions League.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner led Barcelona to retain La Liga title but failed to do the same in Europe, after crashing out to Liverpool in the semi finals.
La Blaugrana fell at the last hurdle in the Copa del Rey final following a shock defeat to Valencia.
The Copa America is another point of reference for Messi's misery, as Argentina finished third amid intense controversy.
It remains uncertain if Messi will be in Barcelona squad that will face Chelsea in a club friendly on July 23.
