Kogi election: APC physically-challenged aspirants, women to pay N11.2m for guber forms

- Female governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress in the Kogi state governorship election will pay N11.2 million for expression of interest and nomination forms

- The same amount will be paid by physically-challenged aspirants of the party

- Each male aspirant will pay N2.5 million for the expression of interest form and N20 million for nomination form totalling N22.5 million

Female governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kogi state governorship election have been asked to pay N11.2 million for expression of interest and nomination forms.

Physically-challenged aspirants of the party will also pay the same amount ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state, The Guardian reports.

Legit.ng gathers that this was contained in a guideline signed by the national organising secretary, Emma Ibediro.

According to the guideline, each male aspirant is to pay N2.5 million for the expression of interest form and N20 million for nomination form totalling N22.5 million.

However, female aspirants and People with Disabilities (PWDs) are to pay 50 per cent of the fees.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, picked his expression of interest and nomination forms for the November 16 governorship election at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The governor who came with a large group of his supporters to the secretariat was received by the APC director of organisation, Abubakar Kyari.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed November 16 for the governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

During the event, the governor pointed out that although such event was not for speech making, as it was the season of more action.

He stated that his government inherited a divided state which under his leadership has become a one united entity

Governor Bello revealed that in the coming days, his administration’s giant stride in infrastructural development would be affirmed as the state would host President Muhammadu Buhari to commission projects across the three senatorial districts of the state.

He promised that as the state was going into election, it would be peaceful and rancour-free, as his administration would ensure the safety of citizens and residents of the state before, during and after the process.

The governor admonished his supporters to give other aspirants the opportunity to pick their forms and not prevent them from participating in the exercise, such gesture he said would grow the party in number.
