Nigeria's Super Eagles are through to the semifinal of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations championship staging in Egypt this summer.

Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze opened scoring for the three time AFCON kings in the 27th minute through a close range tap in.

And coach Gernot Rohr's men maintained the lead until the end of the first half of the meeting.

Lars Veldwijk leveled up for the Bafana Bafana through a VAR assisted goal in the 71st minute but a late minute strike from Troost-Ekong sealed the win for the Eagles.

Nigeria will however meet the winner of Algeria vs Ivory Coast in the semifinal of the championship as they hope to win their fourth AFCON title.
