Brazilian star Dani Alves has criticized his former teammate at Barcelona Lionel Messi for the controversial comments he made against the organizers of the 2019 Copa America.
Messi expressed his annoyance after Argentina's defeat in the semifinal against Brazil in the Copa America as the Barcelona star attacked the CONMEBOL of being corrupt.
He was also livid for the referee's decision to have given him a red card in Argentina's third place against Chile after having a confrontation with Gary Medel.
Many have reacted on the incident that happened which forced Lionel Messi to speak with some blaming him while others feel he is right.
Dani Alves who won 23 titles with Lionel Messi at Barcelona has now made it clear that the Argentine was disrespectful with his comments.
"A friend is not always right just because he's a friend. You can say it in the heat of the moment, but I still won't agree.
"Firstly, he's disrespecting an institution such as the Selecao, in my view. Secondly, he's being disrespectful with several professionals who put a lot of things aside so they could be there fighting for a dream.
"I'm a friend who always tells the truth when it's due, and I think he was wrong for saying these things,'' Alves told SporTV's 'Bem Amigos.
Although no decision has been made yet by the authorities in charge of football, but there are news that Lionel Messi could be banned for two years.
