Argentina are considering appearing in the UEFA Nations League competition after their controversial campaign at the just concluded Copa America championships, reports claim.
Lionel Messi was sent off in their third-place play-off match against Chile and the VAR decisions that went against Brazil in the semi finals.
And according to Fox Sports Argentina, the country's football governing body is considering going to compete in Europe.
It is understood that an offer has been put on the table for the Argentine FA to play in the recently launched UEFA competition, which has replaced international friendlies in the calendar.
Their sources claim if the Albiceleste refuses to play in Copa America competition organised by CONMEBOL, they would then have the option to take part instead against top European sides, which will potentially see rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi go head to head once again.

Ronaldo's led Portugal to the inaugural trophy this year and many of Argentina's stars playing in Europe including Messi, Paulo Dybala, Nicolas Otamendi and others.
The CONMEBOL qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup begins in March 2022, while next summer sees the Copa America return quicker than usual to align with the European Championships.
However, UEFA have since denied these reports, although have thrown out another invitation to the Argentine national team.
