Appoint only committed party members as ministers - APC to Buhari

- The Enugu state chapter of the APC has asked President Buhari not to appoint non-loyal members of his party as ministers

- The party asked the president not to appoint those who do not believe in his next-level philosophy

- Adams Oshiomhole was also urged to lift the suspension placed on some chieftains of the party

Ahead of the constitution of a new Federal Executive Council, the Enugu state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint only committed members of the party as ministers.

The state chapter of the APC said that Buhari should resist the temptation of appointing people who reap where they did not sow or would want to slow the progress of the party as ministers, Daily Trust reports.

The Enugu state chairman of the APC, Ben Nwoye, said various chapters of the party across the country had serious setbacks during the president’s first term because he appointed non-core members of the party.

The Enugu APC which during their meeting passed a vote of confidence on Buhari, asked the president not to allow people who do not believe in his next-level philosophy into his cabinet.

Also, the state executive council called on the national chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and the national working committee to lift the suspension placed on some chieftains of the party for anti-party activities.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Buhari approved the re-appointment of his personal physician, Dr Suhayb Rafindadi and 10 other personal staff.

The president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed this development in a statement in Abuja on Friday, July 5.
