American female rap star Nicki Minaj has been billed to perform in Saudia Arabia on July 18, at the Jeddah Season cultural festival as the ultraconservative kingdom tries to shed its years of restrictions on entertainment.
Minaj whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj is expected to headline the festival on July 18.
The concert is expected to comply with Saudi Arabia's laws as it is to be alcohol and drug-free and open to people of age 16 and above. the cultural festival is going to take place at the King Abdullah Sports Stadium in the Red Sea city.
Known for her outlandish performances and flamboyant, hyper-sexualised image, with her music videos often featuring figure-hugging, skin-bearing outfits and provocative dancing, Minaj’s performance has drawn protests from the conservative Muslims.
Legit.ng reported the moment Nigerian singer Burna Boy was announced the 2019 winner of the best international act category of BET Awards. The talented singer floored Teni Makanaki and Mr Eazi to win the coveted category in the award.
Burna Boy's award was received by his mum who also doubles as his manager and she took it upon herself to remind blacks in the diaspora in her acceptance speech that they are first Africans before being any other nationality. She said: "Every black person should remember, you were Africans before you became anything else."
