Emerging report has indicated that 15 people were killed on Wednesday night, July 3, when armed bandits attacked four villages in Kankara and Danmusa local government areas of Katsina state.
Daily Trust reports that the bandits first attacked Unuwar Nagwande at about 4:30pm where they killed 4 people before moving to Unguwar Rabo killing 9 people and later attacked Gidan Daji killing 2 people.
Legit.ng gathers the bandits were said to have moved to Maidabino village in Danmusa local government at about 5:10pm, and opened fire on residents attending the town’s market day.
The corpses were said to have been evacuated by residents of the area.
The spokesman for the state police command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident, saying that only eleven people were killed in Kankara local government. He said that two were shot at Maidabino.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the inspector of police, Mohammed Adamu, gave a detailed account of how the kidnapped in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, Musa Umar Uba, was rescued.
Adamu gave the detailed account in a statement in Abuja, in which the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the IGP’s office led by a deputy commissioner of police, Abba Kyari, rescued Uba.
The IGP said the investigation led the team to Kaduna, Bauchi, Niger, Katsina and Kogi states.
He said that the police arrested 11 of the terrorists and kidnappers, including the overall gang leader and rescued the victim in Panshekara area of Kano City.
The statement read: “Today (two days ago), the IGP Intelligence Response team successfully rescued Alhaji Musa Umar Daura, Magajin Garin Daura, Katsina State, who was kidnapped on May I, 2019 in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
“In line with the directives of IGP Adamu Mohammed, IRT operatives led by DCP Abba Kyari conducted six weeks unrelenting follow-up together with OC SIB Kaduna State and OC SIB Niger State.
“High level intelligence-led operations were conducted in Kaduna, Bauchi, Niger, Katsina and Kogi States, which resulted in the arrest of 11 of the terrorists and kidnappers, including the overall gang leader and the rescuing of the victim in Panshekara Area of Kano City."
