Oyo state: Faceless contractor got N7b road project - Makinde

- An unknown person was awarded a contract of N7 billion by the immediate past administration in Oyo state, according to Governor Makinde

- The governor revealed that N2 billion out of the total contract sum was paid to the contractor

- Going further, the governor said based on his assessment, the cost of the work done so far on the project would barely pass for N150 million

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo has alleged that the last administration in the state awarded a contractor with untraceable office address the Moniya-Iseyin road for the sum of N7billion.

The governor who disclosed this after taking a tour of the Moniya-Iseyin road, said N2 billion out of the total contract sum was paid to the 'faceless' contractor.

Going further, Makinde noted that his assessment of the job done so far on the site would barely pass for N150 million.

“My impression of the work done so far if I will have to evaluate and cost it, it couldn’t have been more than N150 million that I will spend on it.

“It was a faceless contractor and we don’t even know where their offices are located. I could have stopped by to go and discuss with them, but there is nowhere to stop by,” Makinde said.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that Oseni Ibrahim Ola, a resident of Oke Ogun in Oyo state lamented the deplorable conditions of Oyo-Iseyin and Iseyin-Ibadan roads.

The resident argued that despite the fact that Oke-ogun accommodates one third of local government in Oyo state, it could not be easily reached from the state capital Ibadan.
