Italian champions Juventus have told Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain that he is free to leave the club this summer as his services are no longer needed in Turin.

Higuain made a return to the Old Lady after the expiration of his loan spell at Premier League side Chelsea in which the Blues failed to extend his stay.

And having played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli and Chelsea, Higuain was hoping that his working relationship with the Italian would continue at Juventus.

But that dream has been blocked as Juventus are said to have communicated the former Real Madrid star to leave according to Goal.

He has made 105 appearances in all competitions for the Italian champions scoring 55 goals before his loan spells at AC Milan and Chelsea last term.

Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot have both arrived on free transfers and Juventus are still planning to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan this summer.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Gonzalo Higuain announced his retirement from international football with his country Argentina.

The Chelsea loanee has made 75 appearances for the Albiceleste scoring 31 goals but has not played since their ouster at the 2018 World Cup.
