Biodun Fatoyinbo: COZA pastor officially steps down

- Following the child molestation allegation laid against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, Nigerians had called for the pastor to step down from his duties as a pastor

- The pastor had been accused of child molestation by the wife of popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo

- Some Nigerians had marched in protest to the Lagos and Abuja branches of the COZA on Sunday, June 30

- A day after the protest, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has announced that he would step down from his duties as a pastor

The senior pastor and general overseer of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, has stepped down from performing his pastoral duties in the house of God.

Fatoyinbo made the announcement in a statement he released on his Instagram page. The pastor stated that he would be taking a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church.

This announcement comes a day after Nigerians stormed the Lagos and Abuja branches of COZA on Sunday, June 30, to demand that the pastor step-down.

In his statement, Fatoyinbo, who expressed that it would break his heart to stay away from his ministry, noted that he believes staying away is the right thing to do at the time.

He stated that he does not want issues concerning him to after the members of his church and distract them from worshiping God.

The pastor further noted that his confidence in God remains unwavering.
