Frank Lampard is among several manager been considered as replacement for Maurizio Sarri, claims new technical and performance advisor Petr Cech.

According to Metro report citing Czech News Agency, Lampard is repeatedly linked with Chelsea managerial role, but Cech, who is playing a major role in the appointment of their next manager, insists his former teammate is still under consideration among other names.

“The club has identified several candidates, the situation is open,” Cech was quoted as saying to Czech News Agency.

“Frank is one of them. Before the first team begins preparations we want to solve the issue of the new manager.

“The most important thing is to choose a new manager, it will be crucial in the context of further work.

“The coach will have ideas for the team, we will be completing the team for next season. He will have to look at the players and decide who will go to Japan.," Cech added.

Sarri’s switch to Juventus opened the way for Chelsea to bring in a new manager as replacement for the Italian.

On the other hand, Lampard enjoyed a superb first managerial debut with Derby, guiding the Championship side to the play-off finals.

During his active days, Lampard won three Premier Leagues, four FA Cups and the Champions League with Chelsea.

Chelsea’s squad return to pre-season on Wednesday, July 3, except for the players involved in international duty over the summer.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Chelsea winger Willian believes club legend Frank Lampard has everything it takes to be successful if he replaces Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is expected to be appointed Chelsea new manager after his current club Derby County gave him permission to speak to the Blues last week.

The 41-year-old led Derby County to play-off final last season losing out to Aston Villa in the final, but despite the defeat, Chelsea are convinced Lampard is the right man for the vacant managerial job at Stamford Bridge.
