Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu has been declared fit to play at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after undergoing another round of medical test in Cairo.
According to thenff.com, Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor revealed that team doctor Ibrahim Gyaran travelled alongside Kalu to the Egyptian capital, on Monday, June 24, to conduct the test in company of a CAF medical officer.
“Kalu has been declared fit to play as from now. His featuring in Wednesday’s match against Guinea however depends on if he is picked by the technical crew led by Coach Gernot Rohr,” Achor was quoted as saying.
At the last count, the France-based player collapsed during a Eagles training session on Friday evening, June 21, in Alexandria.
However, after he was stabilized following the incident, he was taken to hospital for close medical observation and was put through series of test where he was said to be dehydrated and needed more fluids intake.

Subsequently, he was not in contention to take part in the Super Eagles opening Group B match against Burundi on Saturday, which the team won by a narrow 1-0 scoreline at the Alexandria Stadium.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles star Samuel Kalu seems to have fully recovered but will now await the green light from the doctors before he can rejoin his teammates in training.
The 21-year-old winger was rushed to the hospital on Friday, June 21, after collapsing during their training session ahead of this evening's Africa Cup of Nations opener against Burundi.
Though, initial reports revealed the the Bordeaux attacker suffered heart attack during their preparations for their opening group game.
